    • @JPDeRoseOutdoors
      @JPDeRoseOutdoors День назад

      As a general purpose rod that can also handle Pike I would suggest a Medium Heavy, Fast action rod with the Curado DC200. It may be a hair heavy for Walleye but it works really well for most bass and pike lure applications. The Curado Casting rods are a very good choice for this, they are well priced and perform well above their price point. I personally like longer rods so I would use the 7'5" MH but there is also a shorter version, either 7' or 7'2" MH that would fit the bill

    The primary reason I will never by another Shimano Talica is because the clear coat finish on these reels suck! Scratch way too easily, just a slight contact by putting the rod in the rail racks or another careless angler with cheap crap can turn your expensive reel into a real 2nd hand item that looks abused. I own the Tac 8ii, 12ii & 25ii and all have covers. Don’t believe me? Look at the used Talica’s for sale online and compare with other comparable reel manufacturers product under simalar use. Everywhere I fish, 99% of other fishermen use spinners and I ask,.. why a spinner ? They all say, "I cant cast a conventional reel" I do own a few high-end spinners but I never use them and theyre brand new in the box and never been used, to be honest , I'll never ever use them... its either conventional reels or fly reels and no bait .. not ever.. but for you guys that like them,.. please, carry on... I'm not disrespecting anyone using a spinner but for long distance casting whether tournament casting or fishing it will always be a conventional for me .. 👍😎🤙

      @@3d3ist Thanks. I don't think I could switch directly from my Daiwa BG 3000 (2019) to the Stradic FM 3000. The Stradic just looks more like the smaller BG, maybe the 2500 or 2000 BG. I'd have to go with the Stradic FM 4000 because, I like the size of my BG 3000 and, I like the spool size. That spool on the Stradic 3000 looked tiny! LOL

    Hey JP, what’s your thoughts on the new Vanford C5000 being used for inshore (Redfish, Stripers, Flounder) fishing?

      It will do really well. I still prefer an aluminum frame for hard running fish personally but I have fished reds with a Vanford with no issue.

    Thanks for the video JP. I have a question regarding the previous version of Vanford, which I already have. Can I replace the drag system in the 2020 Vanford with the new drag system from the 2024 Vanford? Will it fit and work? Thanks again.

      I haven’t heard of anyone swapping out the drag washers for the new Duracross ones or if they are even available as parts yet since they are so new. A lot of people put the felt washers in their 3000’s to get that smoothness

    Thank you very much for the quick comparison JP! Looking forward to see more of this quality content! I've bought the Stradic btw, maybe later for the finesse setup I will pick the Vanford FA. Thanks again!
